Today, the term curry is ubiquitous. It appears in countless forms across the world—from British royal tables to German street carts, and Caribbean kitchens to Japanese curry houses.

In this immersive tasting experience, we unpack the rise of curry powder in Britain and its spread across Europe - from royal banquets to street food stalls, how flavor survives even when it is simplified —and how “curry” became a global word with wildly different meanings.

This evenings experience begins with a prepared Coronation Chicken Canapé with red pepper jelly, referencing the British interpretation of curry in royal cuisine.  Each of you will then get hands-on experience in creating a hot appetizer of German Currywurst with dill pickle relish, pepperoncini, and potato crisps, exploring curry’s transformation in European street food culture. Led by Chef Ankita, your next hands-on task is the creation of Crab Tostada with Curry Aioli and caviar highlights modern fusion expressions of spice and luxury.

For the main course, Chef will demonstrate a traditional good Olde British Curry which features white meat, potatoes, carrots, and coconut sauce, served with dinner rolls, reflecting the early standardization of curry in British kitchens.

With a sweet finale, you will participate in creating the finishing touches on a Five-Spice Crème Brûlée, a silky custard finished with crackling sugar and fresh berries, blending warm spice traditions with classic French technique.
